Today i tried to make macaroons. I was so pumped for this. I made my own almond paste. I whisked the egg. Piped them onto the tray. I did everything the recipe told me to do. Then when it came out of the oven it didnt rise. :/ It was like this little cracker. I was so sad. LOL but not to worry, now when i need i snack i can eat my ''crackers'' i made. BTW the crackers are DELICIOUS! But this is like a stepping stone for me. 'Learn from your mistakes'.
OMG! I LOVE BLUEBERRIES! THEY ARE SOO YUMMY AND HEALTHY! Normally i would just eat them strait out of the box thingy. But i wanna try making something with it. Like a Blueberry cheesecake served with a strawberry puree! OMG! that would actually look very nice because the BLUE cheesecake would have a lovely finish with the RED puree! If i ever make this ill take a photo and show you guys.
The other day, on Tuesday i think it was, I made pie (: I've never really made pie before so it was a bit wierd for me. Usually pie consists of 2 pastries. Shortbread crust for the bottom and puff pastry for the 'lid'. I couldn't be bothered making bot pastries so i just made puff pastry BECAUSE I LOVE IT! Making it was pretty hard because you had to fold in cold butter (lard) consistently so that u get that puffy texture. After i made the pastry, i made the filling which consists of chicken, mushroom, potato and gravy. I made the gravy with chicken stock and sherry. Sherry is like a type of wine like sauce base. Since i didn't have a pie tin, i had to use a rice bowl which was interesting. The top would cook but the sides wouldn't. So when i cooked the top bit, i would get a plate and flit the pie onto it and then cook the sides and the bottom. When the pastry turned golden brownish i took it out and took it to school! (:
